The truffle in the region of Marche is not only a tourist and gastronomic attraction, but also a symbol of the biodiversity that distinguishes the territory. In order to grow, in fact, truffle needs unique microclimate and soil conditions, which characterize wooded areas rich in oak trees, lindens, poplars, willows, and other mycorrhizal plants. Many areas in the hinterland of Marche have the right climatic and territorial conditions for the growth of truffles and have become famous for annual truffle fairs where the precious fruit is marketed and tasted.

Here’s a list of the most famous truffle fairs in the region of Marche:
Acqualagna, Pesaro Urbino: Fiera nazionale del tartufo bianco di Acqualagna
The national festival of white truffle of Acqualagna is probably the most important truffle fair in the region of Marche. Acqualagna is one of Italy’s truffle capitals and a national and international center for the marketing of this precious product: here, about 600 quintals of truffles of all types are collected (2/3 of the entire national production).

Amandola, Ascoli Piceno: Diamanti a tavola
“Diamanti a tavola” (Diamonds at the table) in Amandola is the festival that celebrates the white truffle and the typical products of the Sibillini Mountains. During the festival you can taste dishes based on truffles, go truffle hunting with local experts and cook truffle with experienced chefs.

When: the 24th edition will take place on 1, 6, 7, 13, 14 November 2021.
Fossombrone, Pesaro Urbino: Mostra mercato del tartufo bianchetto
At the “Mostra mercato del tartufo Bianchetto” you can taste local food and wine specialties and dishes based on the Bianchetto truffle. Bianchetto, also known as Marzuolo, is a variety of white truffle less valuable and expensive, with a rather strong and spicy aroma, very appreciated for its excellent value for money.

When: the truffle exhibition usually takes place during the month of March. The festival was not held in 2021.
Pergola, Pesaro Urbino: Fiera nazionale del tartufo bianco di Pergola
The precious white truffle of Pergola is the protagonist of the national fair of white truffle. The main streets of the city host a large market with food and wine specialties that extends for over two kilometers and arrives at the gates of the Museum of the “bronzi dorati”.

Sant’Angelo in Vado, Pesaro Urbino: Mostra Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco di Sant’Angelo in Vado

When: the 58th edition will take place from October 9 to 31.
Roccafluvione, Ascoli Piceno: Nero d’autore
Nero d’autore is the festival of the black truffle of Roccafluvione. The event offers cooking workshops for adults and children, tastings, excursions and markets. There will also be conferences and meetings on this precious product of the Marche region.
If you are not around during the Roccafluvione’s truffle fair, you can drop by Trivelli tartufi, the most famous local company that deals with the collection, selection, processing and distribution of truffle.
