A bit about us –
I’m Silvia – proud Italian, foodie and storyteller.
I didn’t quit my job to travel full time and I’m not planning to hitchhike around the world. I really admire people who have the guts to drop everything, pack up and leave but I’m just not one of them. Not everyone is made for long-term travel and I guess I’m not. I love having some place to call “home” and mine is Italy. “Torno presto” in italian means “I’ll be back soon”, if you were wondering. I love Italy and I still can’t find a place I love more, despite all of its flaws.
Nevertheless I love leaving Italy to explore new places as much as I love coming back. I use to travel with Lorenzo, my boyfriend since about 3 years. Journeying around is what makes us happy but we only do that when we have enough time and money. People tell me I have my head in the clouds, he is the one with the feet on the ground. We met halfway and chose to spend our time between ground and clouds filling our weaknesses with each other’s strengths. I’m the curious one, that always get lost. He’s practical with a great sense of direction (lucky me!). He is an architecture admirer and has a thing for art and design. I’d rather admire faces, skies, seas and oceans.
I created this blog as a platform to collect memories, write about the adventures of me and my loved one and share a bit of what we enjoy: exploring, eating and catching moments.
Tornopresto.com is an italian blog but I decided to build up an english section to reach out to non-italian speaking readers. I’m here to give you an insider perspective on our home country and to inspire you for your upcoming Italy trips.
PS I’m not a native English speaker but I hope you’ll enjoy my writing.
